Apartment Water Smart-Metering

We provide advanced, automated water meter readings using our proprietary wireless IoT meter hardware. Our technology seamlessly delivers real-time meter data to a secure, cloud-based data management platform. This automation saves time and labour costs associated with manual readings and ensures consistently accurate and reliable data with no human error.

Our solution offers several environmental benefits by enabling organisations to monitor water usage more precisely and efficiently. With immediate access to detailed consumption data, businesses and municipalities can identify water waste, track usage patterns, and make proactive adjustments. This increased visibility into water consumption helps reduce unnecessary usage, conserve natural resources, and minimise water waste—a crucial step in promoting sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Furthermore, the use of IoT technology enables move-in and move-out readings for individuals and ensures water usage is correct to the minute for each tenant. Building managers, developers and body corps optimise operational efficiency and contribute to a more sustainable future by investing in automated water meter readings.

Case Study

Freemans Bay Townhouses

Smart Metering, recently completed a Sub-Metering project at a Townhouse development in Freemans Bay.

Previously Watercare provided one main water meter for all 4 townhouses and sent an evenly split invoice to each owner. So all owners paid exactly the same amount regardless of how much water they individually used.

With Smart Metering, we were able to install individual smart sub-meters to each property. Since the incoming water lines were in difficult to access locations only Smart Metering could provide automated daily water meter readings, which will never require a manual read.

Smart Metering now pays the Watercare invoice for the whole Townhouse development directly and bills individual owners based on their individual actual water usage.
