Tenant FAQ's

What is Smart-Metering?

Usually the Water and Power utility will provide one mains water meter and one mains power meter for a multi-dwelling building. This monitors the total consumption of power and water to that building. When smart-metering has not been implemented each tenant will pay an equal share of the total power and water bill. Implementing a  sub-metering system involves the installation and monitoring of individual water and power meters of each unit in a multi-dwelling property, so that each tenant pays for their actual usage not an equal share of the buildings total water and power.

How does your billing work?

We have two simple options for billing.

  1. Smart Metering bills monthly the individual tenant of each unit directly based on your actual water and/or power consumption.
  2. Smart Metering provide the water and power usage data for each tenant to the property manger, or body corporate and they will bill you directly.
